Two die in Interstate 40 crashes near Biscoe

Posted by GBNF on June 24, 2008

Associated Press — BISCOE, Ark. (AP) – Arkansas State Police say two people died after a pair of early morning crashes on Interstate 40 near Biscoe. Troopers say both Bobby Sparks, 52, of Tuscumbia, Ala., and John K. Pinkston, 42, of Kenney, Ill., died while traveling west along the cross-country interstate. Troopers say Sparks died after his semi-truck crashed into the back of a trailer being pulled by a pickup truck that sustained a tire blowout. Sparks’ truck burst into flames after the collision.  After that crash, troopers say Pinkston slammed his semi-truck into the back of another semi-truck that slowed down for Sparks’
crash.
