NASHVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Police say a 74-year-old woman accused of hiring a hitman to kill her sister-in-law has been named a person of interest in the 35-year-old murder of her husband.

JoAnn Hicks of Ogden was charged this week with being an accomplice to first-degree murder. Her brother, 63-year-old David Camp of Stamps, was also charged. The siblings are accused of hiring Harry Surber of Ashdown to kill Camp’s estranged wife, Robin Camp, on Memorial Day.

Yesterday, the Texarkana, Texas, Police Department said it was reopening the investigation of the 1973 killing of Herbert Hicks - JoAnn Hicks’ husband. David Camp has also been named a person of interest in the slaying of his brother-in-law.

Herbert Hicks was shot to death on his front porch. Howard County Deputy Prosecutor Bryan Chesshir said weapons confiscated in the Robin Camp murder investigation could provide new leads in the 1973 death.

Chesshir says that Surber made statements to authorities that implicated David Camp in the 1973 shooting.
