Two men and two women have been charged with capital murder in the Aug. 6 shooting death of 22-year-old Terrory Murphy, Bessemer police announced today. Terrell French, 25, Meoshia Daniel, 25, Monica Sims, 26, Joe Reid, 28, are being held without bond in the case. Murphy, brother of University of Alabama defensive lineman Kerry Murphy, was found dead from a single gunshot wound in the 1200 block of Clarendon Avenue, police have said. Police said robbery was the motive. The day of Murphy’s death, his mother, Rosetta Murphy, said her son received a call at 4:30 a.m. and asked him to come to the Cloverdale Garden apartments, which is on the street where he was slain. (Special to The Birmingham News) Murphy, a Hoover High graduate, had recently been accepted to Jacksonville State University, worked at Winn-Dixie as a stocker, and often rapped at local clubs, his mother said. Funeral arrangements for Murphy are set for Saturday at 2 p.m. at Hillside Mortuary at 3274 Central Plank Road in Wetumpka, relatives said Wednesday. Bessemer police continue to investigate. “We’re still gathering information, but we’re sure we’ve got the right players,” Capt. Mike Roper said today.
