CLARKE COUNTY, Alabama — Three men have been arrested and charged with obstructing the investigation into a fatal accident that killed a member of the Southern Choctaw High School football team, Clarke County Sheriff Ray Norris said Tuesday.
Wayland Cartez Moore, 21, of Mobile; Brandon Randolph Jackson, 21, and Terrick Lashaun McDonald, 18, both of Jackson, Ala., are charged with first-degree hindering prosecution, Norris said. All three were passengers in a car that authorities said collided with a school bus early Saturday morning at U.S. 84 and Ala. 69, authorities said.
One student, 15-year-old Otties William Brewer III of Silas, identified as the team manager, was killed in the crash. Officials said that 34 others, including several players, were injured. (full story)
