The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a pair of unrelated traffic fatalities early this morning.Around 12:38 a.m., a 42-year-old Batesburg-Leesville man, identified by Saluda County Coroner B. Keith Turner as Sylvester Anderson Jr., was injured in the head and chest in single-vehicle wreck in Saluda County. Anderson was driving a four-door Nissan south on SC 23 about a half mile south of Batesburg-Leesville when the car went off the right side of the road and collided with a telephone box, Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. Scot Edgeworth said. The car then crossed to the left side of the road and overturned, throwing Anderson out. He was not wearing a seat belt, Edgeworth said.
