South Carolina investigators are looking into the death of a Presbyterian College student and football player.
University spokesman Hal Milam says a fellow student found 21-year-old Kyle Allen of St. Augustine, Fla., unconscious in a fraternity house early Sunday. Allen was taken to Laurens County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Laurens County Coroner Nick Nichols is investigating the death with the State Law Enforcement Division, which is notified whenever there is a death on a college campus. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday morning. The university’s athletic website says Allen was a 5-foot-10, 180-pound linebacker who was redshirted in 2010 after transferring from Georgia Southern.
