A prisoner who hanged himself at Cheshire Correctional Institution has been identified as 55-year-old Philip Richardson, officials said.
Richardson, of Middletown, who was serving an 18-year sentence for first-degree manslaughter, was found around 11 a.m. He was hanging by the neck from a bed sheet tied to the bars on the window of his cell, according to a release from the Department of Correction.
