Orange Park soldier dies in Afghanistan | jacksonville.com


A 31-year-old Orange Park man was one of two soldiers who killed Thursday in in Afghanistan, the Department of Defense said Friday.

Sgt. Dick A. Lee Jr. died from injuries received when their vehicle hit an improvised explosive device in the Ghazni province.

Lee was assigned to 95th Military Police Battalion, 18th Military Police Brigade, 21st Theater Sustainment Command out of Sembach, Germany.

Also killed was Staff Sgt. Brandon F. Eggleston, 29, of Candler, N.C., assigned to 4th Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group, Fort Bragg, N.C.
