The unidentified man was found shot in the torso at the Mad Italian restaurant on Savoy Drive, according to Channel 2 Action News. The victim was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The shooting, however, may not have happened at the restaurant, police said. Witnesses told police a blue SUV, possibly a Ford Expedition, was seen speeding away.
Restaurant manager Jeremy Brown and an employee found the body. “I don’t think anybody should have to suffer what that man suffered this morning,” Brown told Channel 2, still shaken up by the situation.
Crime tape surrounded the scene as investigators looked at possible evidence left behind, including sunglasses and shoes.
