Ten people died in wrecks on Georgia roads over the Labor Day weekend, the Georgia State Patrol reported early Tuesday.

The fatalities occurred in eight different wrecks, with State Patrol posts in Cartersville and Madison each investigating crashes with double fatalities. The other fatalities were investigated by posts in Toccoa, Douglas and Valdosta, and by police in Cobb, Gwinnett and Henry counties.

The State Patrol investigated a total of 373 wrecks, resulting in 230 injuries, during the 78-hour period, which began at 6 p.m. Friday and ended at midnight Monday.
