Two Nashville gang members, both convicted murderers, were sentenced to life in prison this week for their crimes.

Keairus Wilson, 22, and Rondarius Williamson, 22, were convicted by a federal jury on March 22 for their roles in three murders, racketeering conspiracy and firearms offenses, all related to their membership in the Bloods street gang.
Jerry E. Martin, U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Tennessee, said in a news release that Wilson was sentenced on Monday to life plus 35 years in prison and Williamson was sentenced Wednesday to life plus 65 years in prison.
During their trials, Metro police and prosecutors said Wilson and Williamson’s gang was working to take over the East Nashville drug trade, often using violence, and sometimes used the now-defunct anti-gang nonprofit Galaxy Star’s offices to organize its efforts.
Wilson was found guilty on eight counts, including the shooting deaths of Michael Goins in June 2008 and Alexandra Franklin in July 2009.

Wilson was found guilty on eight counts, including the shooting deaths of Michael Goins in June 2008 and Alexandra Franklin in July 2009.
Goins, 19, was gunned down on Sylvan Street. Franklin, 19, was shot on Richmond Hill Drive and died four days later. At the time, police said her death was probably a warning to her boyfriend, a suspected gang member.
Williamson was found guilty on seven counts, including the shooting death of Andreus Taylor in May 2009. Taylor, 21, was shot and killed at a crowded Maplewood High School graduation ceremony at Tennessee State University’s Gentry Center.
