According to Jacksonville Beach police, lifeguards and firefighters responded to a report of a swimmer in distress at the beach at the foot of Beach Boulevard at 11:40 a.m.
Witnesses say 43-year-old Sydney Graham was brought to shore by participants in the Trident Challenge — a 500-meter ocean swim, a crawl through the sand, pull ups and paddleboarding.
Ocean rescue personnel who were contracted by Never Quit Never had jet ski’s in the water, lifeguards on surfboards and buoys out at sea directing swimmers where to go.
Paramedics performed CPR on the sand for several minutes, then transported him to Baptist Beaches Medical Center, where he died at 12:40 p.m.

According to a preliminary report from the Illinois State Police, the 15-passenger van was headed east on Interstate 70 when it veered off the roadway and flipped several times. Several occupants were ejected from the van.
There were 11 men in the one-vehicle crash. The other six passengers were transported to hospitals. Their conditions are unknown.

Police were called to the crash in the 12500 block of Dunn Creek Road in which Benjamin Allgary, a passenger in the vehicle, died.
Police said an Acura with four people in it was heading south on Dunn Creek at a high speed and struck a bump as it passed through the intersection at New Berlin Road. Investigators said the car left the east side of the roadway and traveled across a shallow ditch, through three fences, two yards, a driveway, and into a large pine tree.
Allgary died at the scene. Police said he was not wearing a seat belt.

MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KKCO) — Two people are dead in a tragic accident Thursday night.
The crash occurred in DeBeque Canyon around Interstate 70 milemarker 57 just before 9:30 p.m.
According to Colorado State Patrol, two men were heading eastbound in a 1996 Honda Civic when the driver lost control, hit a barrier and rolled. The two occupants — a 25-year-old and a 31-year-old — died at the scene.

Wichita Falls Police Sergeant John Spragins says the crash happened just after 5 this morning on Southwest Parkway and McNiel.
He says a black Honda Civic was southbound on McNiel and had a flashing red traffic light and a semi was traveling westbound on Southwest Parkway and had a flashing yellow traffic light.
