Trussville body identified, firefighters to scan pond with sonar | CBS42.com

TRUSSVILLE, Ala. (WIAT) – A guardrail shields traffic from the pond on the U.S. 11 side of it, but once you make the turn onto Camp Coleman Road-it’s a different story.

“It tapers off and ends as you turn into Camp Coleman Road,” said Trussville Mayor Gene Melton. “I think the pond is basically hidden because of the Privett hedges and the trees around it. Going down the road or coming up the intersection you really don’t see it. You see it more during winter because all the leaves are off.”

It’s one of two spots the city plans to put up guardrails between drivers and ponds. Both have been the site of wrecks involving submerged vehicles, according to Melton.
