The body of Harvey Ray Smith, age 43 of Pace, was found stuffed into a trunk behind a Motel 6 on Davis Highway Saturday morning. Smith had been reported missing in Santa Rosa County. Family members located his vehicle at the motel and then discovered the body.

Deborah Leanne Burge, age 22 of Highway 97, Molino, was booked into the Escambia County Jail Sunday night on charges of homicide and robbery in connection with the man’s death.

Birmingham Police investigating homicide | WIAT CBS42

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – According to a release from the Birmingham Police Department , detectives are conducting a homicide investigation stemming from an incident that occurred on Thursday around 3:10 a.m.

The Birmingham Police Department’s East Precinct responded to a report of a disturbance early Thursday morning.

When officers arrived, they found Warren Gunn, a 33-year-old from Birmingham, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Two people have been arrested in connection with a homicide Sunday night near the Pensacola Country Club.

Taikwan Keman Crosby, 25, has been charged with robbery and homicide, and Damien Holt Shiver, 19, has been charged with accessory after the fact and tampering with evidence.

A homicide investigation has been launched after the discovery of a body in the home owned by the man who packed the parachutes for infamous airplane hijacker D.B. Cooper.

The man’s daughter called police Friday evening after finding her father’s body inside the garage at the home, located in the 15000 block of Northeast 192nd Street, said a King County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson.

Mother of fire victims charged with homicide by child abuse – WECT TV6-WECT.com:News, weather & sports Wilmington, NC

Those charges against Hope Hawkins were upgraded and released in a news conference Friday morning. She was arrested Thursday night and booked into the Darlington County Detention Center, said Capt. Andy Locklair with the DCSO.

During that news conference, Fire Chief Jeff Burr revealed that the investigation so far has determined that fire began in the kitchen, and has been deemed accidental though they are not sure of the exact cause.

Sheriff Wayne Byrd spoke next, saying Hope Hawkins has given conflicting answers to their question regarding her location before the fire and when it started, but it is obvious she was not home. The children were in the home alone and unprotected, the sheriff said.
