Police were called to the 1500 block of West 21st Street, where they found the suspect, Christopher Anderson, being physically restrained by witnesses. The victim, 42-year-old Armando Jackson, was shot multiple times and died at a hospital.
According to a police report, Anderson got mad after he asked Jackson if he knew about a woman he apparently was interested in. Jackson said he did and then offered a vulgar reply about her, according to the report.
Police said Anderson picked Jackson up by his neck and slammed him down. The confrontation was broken up.

(CNN) — Police in Omaha, Nebraska, are looking into whether two double killings could be linked.
Roger and Mary Brumback, both 65, were found dead Tuesday inside their home by officers responding to a welfare call.
Roger Brumback was a professor in the pathology and neurology departments at Creighton University.
On March 13, 2008, 11-year-old Thomas Hunter and his family’s housekeeper, Shirlee Sherman, were found dead in the Hunters’ home in Omaha, according to the FBI.
The boy’s father, Dr. William Hunter, is also a professor in Creighton’s pathology department. He did not immediately return a call from CNN, but he told the Omaha World-Herald that he wondered if the same person could have been responsible.

TAMPA, Fla. -The 28-year-old son of a Florida fertility doctor has been charged by federal authorities with tricking his girlfriend into taking a pill used to induce labor and cause an abortion, killing the fetus she was carrying.John Andrew Welden was indicted Tuesday by a federal grand jury on charges of product tampering and first-degree murder and faces up to life in prison if convicted of the murder charge. He’s also the defendant in a lawsuit filed in state court by his ex-girlfriend, 26-year-old Remee Lee.”Whenever a woman is robbed of her ability to give birth and have a child, I don’t think there’s any greater harm you can cause somebody,” said Lee’s attorney, Gil Sanchez. “She’s devastated. She still can’t believe this happened to her.”David Weisbrod, who represented Welden in the first federal court appearance Wednesday, declined to comment to The Associated Press. During a court hearing Wednesday, Weisbrod characterized his client’s actions as aberrant but said Welden had no criminal history. A U.S. magistrate judge ordered him held without bond.

A Philadelphia abortion doctor was found guilty Monday of first-degree murder and could face execution in the deaths of three babies who authorities say were delivered alive and then killed with scissors at his grimy clinic, in a case that became a flashpoint in the nation’s debate over abortion.
Dr. Kermit Gosnell, 72, was also found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the drug-overdose death of a patient who had undergone an abortion. He was cleared in the death of a fourth baby, who prosecutors say let out a soft whimper before he snipped its neck.
Gosnell appeared hopeful before the verdict was read and calm afterward; jurors and lawyers on both sides were more emotional.
