LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC: Former McDonald’s manager sentenced to 30 years in robbery that left employee dead | Crime | The State

LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC — A 32-year-old former McDonald’s store manager has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for setting up a robbery at his restaurant that ended with an employee being killed.

The state Attorney General’s Office said Roderquiz Cook was found guilty of murder, attempted armed robbery and conspiracy last week in Lexington County.

A Henry County man shot Tuesday night in an exchange of gunfire with group of burglars in his home died Friday morning, police said.

Ronnie Cantrell Sr., 68, died at 3:30 a.m., said Henry police Sgt. Joey Smith.

One suspect in the shooting, 18-year-old Robert Price, is still sought by police.

Burglary suspect Brandon Terry-Hall, 20, was arrested after he showed up at Piedmont Henry Hospital Tuesday night for treatment of gunshot wounds sustained during the incident, police said.

Suspect Trey Cota, 21, was arrested Tuesday night at a home on Edison Drive in the Lexington Park subdivision near Stockbridge.

Police officers responding to the home of Cantrell and his 42-year-old son, Ronnie Cantrell Jr., found the two men shot Tuesday night. They had exchanged gunfire with the intruders, police said.

NC man arrested in fatal shooting, robbery –

BALTIMORE (AP) – Baltimore police have arrested a North Carolina man in connection with a fatal shooting at a downtown bed and breakfast.

Twenty-5-year-old Quinton Bass of Raleigh, N.C. has been charged with killing 40-year-old artist Alex Ulrich and wounding 56-year-old Larry Peterson outside Peterson’s bed and breakfast on Aug. 10.

Police say officers approached a group of people on Aug. 31 who were drinking in a park. Bass was in the group and police say he had a revolver with an obliterated serial number.

A police chase that ended in the death of an armed robbery suspect on Interstate 75 South led police to shut down the highway for almost six hours Sunday.

The suspect, who was not named by police, allegedly robbed a Marathon station on Bells Ferry Road at Victoria Road in Woodstock. According to a statement from Lt. Jay Baker with the Cherokee Sheriff’s office, the suspect in the armed robbery and his vehicle matched the description in another armed robbery in Cobb County earlier in the morning.

Two Woodstock police officers chased the suspect on Interstate 575 South into Cobb County, the statement said. Several officers attempted to stop the suspect, who refused to stop. Police followed the vehicle onto I-75 South and stopped the car near exit 263.

Durham man dies after July 24 assault; teens sought :: WRAL.com

Durham, N.C. — A Durham man who was injured during an assault and robbery on July 24 died Wednesday night, according to Durham police. Investigators are searching for several teenage boys in connection with the crime.Wayne Preston Cross, 52, of Durham, told officers that several black males in their mid teens approached him in Long Meadow Park, in the 900 block of Holloway Street, around 12:15 a.m. on July 24. One of the teens then assaulted and robbed him, police said.
