Husband indicted in wife’s stabbing death

LAWRENCEBURG, Tenn. – A local man accused of killing his wife in July 2009 has been indicted for first-degree murder, officials said.

The indictment was issued last week against Samuel James Scholl, 30, 405 Oak St., Apartment E29, Lawrenceburg, courthouse officials said.

Lawrenceburg Police Chief Judy Moore said Scholl is accused of stabbing his wife, Polly Anna Scholl, 33, during a domestic altercation July 19.

Moore said the victim was stabbed three times and was flown from Crockett General Hospital to Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, where she died later that morning.

Authorities said it appeared the victim was stabbed with a kitchen knife.

The incident took place at the couple’s residence on Oak Street.

Scholl is being held in the Lawrence County, Tenn., jail without bail.
