A former Troy University football player faces a murder charge in connection to a shooting death Sunday.
According to a statement from Troy Police Lt. Bryan Weed, police arrested Dimitri Miles, 21, of La Fayette, Ga., and charged him with felony murder. Miles was taken to the Pike County Jail and held on $100,000 bail.
Troy police charged Miles in the shooting death of Marquise Jermaine McClendon. The charge stemmed from Troy police officers responding to a reported shooting at a residence in the 400 block of South Brundidge Street around 7:55 a.m. Officers found a man shot inside the apartment. He was taken to Troy Regional Medical center where he later died from his injuries.
