AUSTIN — An Austin attorney representing a woman found guilty of killing a Huston-Tillotson track star is seeking to have her conviction overturned, claiming prosecutors withheld evidence that would have helped his client.

Lawyer Charlie Baird is seeking a new trial for Kaitlyn Ritcherson, who was sentenced to 25 years in prison in the stabbing death of Fatima Barrie. His effort has resulted in numerous recent hearings before State District Judge Bob Perkins, who is expected to rule on Baird\’s request as early as Friday.
