Dothan police have arrested a man in connection to a 17-year-old cold case murder.
Dothan Police Lt. Will Benny, the supervisor of the criminal investigation division, confirmed police investigators arrested 37-year-old Christopher Tony Conrad and charged him with the armed robbery of Vernon North the same day North was shot to death in his motor home.
North is also the uncle of current Dothan Police officer Darren Moody.
Benny said police investigators arrested Conrad on Wednesday and charged him with felony first-degree robbery. Conrad was taken to the Houston County Jail and held without bail.
Court records show police charged Conrad with the theft of a pistol and a rifle belonging to North at gunpoint on June 9, 1997.
