An arrest warrant was issued Friday for a Maryland man suspected of murdering his wife and kidnapping an 8-year-old girl.
Kahlil Tatum, 51, the prime suspect in the disappearance of Relisha Rudd, worked as a janitor at a homeless Shelter in Washington D.C. where the missing child lived with her mother.
The 8-year-old girl was last seen on February 26. However, police were not made aware of her disappearance until Wednesday when a counselor at Payne Elementary School noticed she hadn’t been to class in weeks, HLN affiliate WJLA reported.
Early Thursday, while checking a Maryland motel as part of the search for the missing child, police discovered the body of Tatum’s wife, 51-year-old Andrea Denise Tatum. She was pronounced dead at the scene from an apparent gunshot wound.
A multi-state Amber Alert, which remains active, was issued for Rudd Thursday
