(CNN) — The shootings at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Kansas City in Overland Park, Kansas, and at the Village Shalom Retirement Community in Leawood claimed three lives — a grandfather and grandson, and a woman whose identity has not been released by authorities.
Frazier Glenn Cross, 73, faces charges of premeditated first-degree murder. He is expected to appear in court Monday.
The shooting victims are:
1. Reat Griffin Underwood — The 14-year-old high school freshman was shot in the parking lot of the Jewish Community Center. The teen, who had a “beautiful voice,” was there to audition for “KC Superstar,” an “American Idol”-style contest for the best high school singer in the Kansas City area. Shot in the car his grandfather was driving, Reat died later of his injuries.
