Julia Williams said the shooting death of one of her co-workers just didn’t make sense.
Williams joined around a dozen people who gathered at Kinney Park in Dothan to talk at a community rally after officers with the Dothan Police Department responded to the city’s second murder Tuesday night.
Williams said she worked with the victim, 30-year-old Daniel Lanier Dawsey, at Wayne Farms, as recently as Tuesday.
“Our time is too short to be fighting over meaningless things,” Williams said.
Police tracked down the man they believe shot Dawsey about 24 hours after the shooting. Emanuel Tarrail Bryant, 29, was picked up in Daleville around 9 p.m. Wednesday. He is charged with murder. Bryant is being held with no bond.
The statement said the charge stemmed from some type of physical “altercation” between the two men. Officers responded to a report of a firearm assault in the 1000 block of Eugene Street around 8:30 p.m.
