NEW ORLEANS — What was supposed to be a happy celebration turned deadly when eight people were shot during a high school graduation party in Gentilly Friday night.
It happened just after 11 p.m. in the 6200 block of Eads Street. A 15-year-old was killed, and seven others were shot and wounding in the crossfire.
Instead of preparing to study engineering at Jackson State next year, JeShan Vail is preparing to bury his little brother, 15-year-old Tremaine Robertson.
Robertson was here from Houston to watch his brother walk at George Washington Carver High school’s graduation.
“It was just a party, it was a celebration,” said JeShan Vail. “It was suppose to be a graduation party for me for graduating.”
