Though his best friend Corey Feldman said Corey Haim died with little money to his name, the late actor’s funeral expenses won’t fall to his mother.

Judy Haim, who is suffering from cancer, tells Access Hollywood that the city of Toronto will help her by covering the cost of Haim’s funeral, which is set for Tuesday. The late-actor was Canadian.

In a statement released Sunday, the city of Toronto said it “does not confirm or comment on any potential, pending or active applications for assistance in such matters. Therefore, the City will not be commenting further on these reports.”

Judy also says that Startifacts.com, a celebrity memorabilia site, offered to pay for her son’s tombstone and other miscellaneous expenses. It had not yet provided the funds. A rep for the company said that it would offer $20,000 to the Haim family.

Though the actor had done several small film projects in the last year, friend Chance Corbitt, who first met Haim while filming The Lost Boys, said the actor often relied on personal appearances at conventions for income. “It was an easy way to pay the bills,” says Corbitt. “He would do one of those conventions every other month.”

They’ll Remember Her Laughter

By Catherine Hawley

Suzie Higginbotham was killed on November 29 on Wellesly Island when she drove her pick up into the path of a dump truck. Her family says they’re going to miss her laughter. Family, friends and having a good time, that’s what she was all about.

Suzie was a teacher at Baker High School in Baldwinsville for more then 35-years. She considered it one of her greatest accomplishments in life. It was evident Saturday afternoon just how many lives she touched. Family, friends, former students, and everyone who knew Suzie poured to Falardeau Funeral Home in Baldwinsville to pay their respects. The parking lot completely filled up in 20 minutes, and people parked across the street. The line to get inside went out the door.

Suzie’s family asks that anyone interested in sending flowers instead makes a donation to an education fund for her granddaughter. Checks can be made out to ‘Mariah Ellithorpe College Fund’ and be dropped off or mailed to Watertown Savings Bank, 352 James Street, Clayton, NY 13624.

Mourners gather for private Hudson family funeral

Mourners are arriving at a church on Chicago’s South Side to attend the private funeral service for singer-actress Jennifer Hudson’s slain mother, brother and nephew.

The services for 57-year-old Darnell Hudson Donerson, 29-year-old Jason Hudson and 7-year-old Julian King follow a public memorial Sunday.

Police directed traffic Monday morning around the Apostolic Church of God as hearses and limousines arrived. Spectators were kept across the street and away from attendees.

Plastic covered a tall gated fence in back of the large church, blocking the public from seeing a small rear courtyard entrance.
