DOTHAN, AL – Friday, October 02, 2009 at approximately 8:40 p.m. Dothan Police Traffic Units responded to a pedestrian struck by a Motor Vehicle call at the corner of West Selma Street and S. Edgewood Drive. The driver of the vehicle was traveling westbound on West Selma Street, when he struck the victim with his vehicle. The victim, black male Cornelius Drinkard, 26 years old, of Dothan lost his footing, (after crossing the street and stepping on the curb) and stumbled back into traffic. The victim was transported to a local Hospital where he was listed in critical condition. The victim later expired the next day (Saturday, October 03, 2009). No charges were filed in this incident.
